I’d Like a Getter-Underer Attachment on My Next Robot Vacuum

Yes, there is no such thing — yet

A photo of a corner in a living room. A Roomba robot vacuum is docked in its base station, which includes an automatic dirt disposal unit. The setup is positioned against a white wall next to a floor lamp with a beige lampshade and behind a cream-colored armchair.

I was watching our new J9+ Roomba seek out dirt in my office this morning and thought about the few places it can’t get to — the places under things too low to get under, the narrow places that it can’t navigate. I can get to some of the narrow places myself, but not the under-places that are too heavy for casual moving.

So what I need is a Getter-Underer. Something small and low enough to go into and under to get at dirt and dust. But something that small couldn’t have much battery life, suction, or dirt capacity. Drat! Fungoo! It’s not fair, because I don’t like crawling around on my knees!

A cordless stick vacuum cleaner with a long crevice tool attachment is angled towards the base of a white oven.

But then I thought a thought. Maybe a dumb thought, maybe not. Maybe just a little before its time. A future dream thought!

What if the Roomba had a little suction thingy it could use to reach out to the places it can’t get to? It would need to be a little flexible, I guess. Maybe it could be blown into the hard to reach places and then vacuum?

Maybe it could help with tight corners the spinning side brush might find difficult?

Probably impossible or too complicated. But the cleaning boy can dream, can’t he?
