Is Apple Trying To Distract Us by Making Its Operating Systems Consistent?

Oh, boy, I sure do have some mixed feelings about these reports. On the one hand, I am regularly annoyed by inconsistency between Apple’s apps, whether that is differences between an app on my Mac and the same app on my iPad, an app that doesn’t have functions nearly every other app like it has, or functions deployed in an unnecessarily different manner.

It would be nice to have more consistency.

On the other hand, was it more consistency that was promised at last year’s WWDC? My aging brain may have misunderstood what they said then, but wasn’t it something about Apple Intelligence, a smarter Siri, stuff like that?

Yeah, it was, wasn’t it?

Given the inconsistent mess that Apple OSes have created over the years, I would think that this project consumed a lot of engineering time. There are a lot of apps that would need work and many would need different…
