APPLE MAPS
Maybe I’ll Work for Apple Again as a Driver?
It might be fun if they’ll have me
No, I am not giving up retirement. But, if invited and highly dependent on how onerous it turns out to be, I might be convinced to contribute to Apple Maps by way of a brand new Apple app called Map Surveyor.
You might not find it by searching the App Store. I was able to download it from the link I added above.
What’s especially interesting about this app is that it requires another app called Premise. This is a task app that offers to pay you for completing specific tasks like driving to a store and photographing a certain section.
Yeah, I know: the payment probably wouldn’t cover your gasoline, never mind your time. I personally would never bother with this kind of so-called tasks for pay system.
But if Apple wants to pay me for taking photos of streets on routes I’d travel anyway, why not? I wouldn’t be willing to go out of my way unless the pay was high enough to cover the real cost of driving plus my time, but I wouldn’t get all uppity about taking an alternate route now and then.
So I signed up for Premise and filled out my profile. Yup, just as I thought, Premise offered a $6.00 “Drive somewhere and take some pictures” task.
