What with oscillating markets, on and off tariffs, job threats from robotics and AI, an unpredictable POTUS, and a very confused political scene, those of us lacking mountains of wealth should be concerned about our futures.

Those of us who are retired might be even more concerned. I certainly am.

Ever morning I assess our financial standing. I look at our income from Social Security and retirement funds, our stocks, our cash, and our projected spending for the year.

What I saw this week gave me the yips.

As my wife and I are in our late seventies, our money doesn’t have to last all that long. Well, unless they invent some cheap longevity drug and spike our water supply. If that happens, we are royally screwed.

Or if Social Security gets canned or reduced. But that can’t happen, right? The Erratic Orange Genius said it’s safe, and he’s a man of many words. Great words, like covfefe, and groceries. I trust that he might have meant what he said because I’m stupid like that.

Anyway, inflation is my biggest fear. We have no debt, which is a shame because inflation helps you pay off debt…
