Don’t blur the lines, Apple, just do it

The new rumors from Mark Gurman say that iPadOS 19 will make productivity, multitasking and app window management changes in order to make your iPad work more like a Mac.

Given that iPadOS 19 is still expected to work with a few older iPads, I’m not sure that’s possible, but what do I know?

Nothing. Forget I said that.

But gosh, more like a Mac on an iPad Mini? Surely THAT can’t be true. Though “more than” does have a bit of wiggle room: if I was walking along at three miles per hour, and I step it up to four, I am traveling “more like” I could on a bicycle, right?

Yeah, sure. Better app window management on the teeniest little iPad. That will truly be something to see. Or squint at, I guess.

But why not just stop this silliness and make a MacPad? We know Apple CAN, because they already used iPad M1 chips back when they made special Mac Mini machines for developers.
