Would You Watch Apple TV With Ads?
This might soon be an option
Apparently Apple has recently hired another TV advertising exec. They have been hiring in-house talent for years, but suddenly my news feed is full of stories like this.
I think a free, ad supported option would be a smart move. People know that Apple TV has a few killer shows like Ted Lasso, Severance, and Slow Horses, but a lot of people felt there were not enough shows to justify the monthly fee. Recently raising that fee to $9.99 a month certainly hasn’t helped. It doesn’t matter that everyone else is much higher, because those others have more content.
A lot of that content may be junk (hello, Netflix?), but one man’s junk is another man’s binge watch.
I detest ads and will either pay the man or go without. That’s the way I walk my walk and no show will change my mind.
