60 Million Solar Panels To Power El Salvador-Sized, World’s Largest Renewable Project
The Western Green Energy Hub (WGEH), the world’s largest renewable energy project, has begun public consultation.
Located in Western Australia, this 70GW project by InterContinental Energy and CWP Global will generate 200TWh annually — nearly 73% of Australia’s 2023 power output.
It will feature 3,000 wind turbines, 60 million solar panels, and a green hydrogen and ammonia plant for global export. Spanning 22,700 sq km, WGEH will be built in seven phases over 30 years, positioning Australia as a global leader in renewable energy.
