Microsoft Reportedly in Talks to Acquire TikTok, Trump Confirms
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that Microsoft is in discussions to acquire TikTok, as concerns over the app’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, persist.
While ByteDance has previously attempted to sell TikTok’s U.S. operations — including negotiations with Microsoft and Oracle — no agreements were reached. However, interest remains high, with potential bidders like billionaire Frank McCourt, investor Kevin O’Leary, and YouTuber MrBeast entering the fray.
Trump voiced optimism for a “bidding war” to ensure China’s exclusion from TikTok’s U.S. operations. Both Microsoft and TikTok have not issued official comments on the developments.
