Sensor Tower: Mobile Market Predictions 2020–2024

This week, Sensor Tower announced that in the first half of 2021, global mobile application revenue was $64.9 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 24.8%; App Store revenue was $41.5 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%; Google Play revenue was $23.4 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 30%.

The report shows that the highest-income mobile application is TikTok, which is expected to exceed $920 million USD; followed by YouTube and Tinder.

In terms of games, global mobile game consumer spending was $44.7 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 17.9%.

The “2020–2024 Global Mobile Market Forecast”, released by Sensor Tower earlier this year, made a positive outlook on the global mobile application market revenue for the next five years: although the global economy is currently being affected by COVID-19, it is estimated that by 2024, Apple’s App Store revenue will increase from $67.3 billion USD in 2020 to $115.4 billion USD; Google Play revenue will grow from $34.7 billion USD to $55.5 billion USD.
