We’ve compiled a list of our six favourite Australian tech companies to work for in 2022.

We look at Australian tech companies that not only have a great product and company mission but ones that also prioritise employee wellbeing and satisfaction. Whether you’re a software engineer looking for your next gig, or a professional in the tech space, this is a must read.

1. Immutable

Founded: 2018

Immutable is an NFT startup values at $3.5B. Their business comprises of two parts: Immutable X, a crypto trading platform created on Ethereum; and Immutable Games Studio, a web3 games arm building play to earn games such as Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians.

Immutable is a Project F partner and offers a wide variety of benefits to their employees, including 18 weeks parental leave for birthing parents, birthday leave, and additional leave at the end of the year. They prioritise health and wellbeing through quarterly wellbeing allowances and also invest in employee growth and development with unlimited e-learning and an allocated budget for all staff to enrol in a learning course of their choice. Additionally, they are remote flexible, provide a WFH allowance in addition to annual internet and phone allowances, and also offer digital access passes to WeWork offices to allow remote employees to connect with others in person.

2. Shippit

Shippit is a technology business that creates sustainable and customer first logistics solutions. Their multi carrier shipping technology helps thousands of retailers ship smarter, optimise their practices and give their customers better experiences post-purchase. They are aiming to do all this with sustainability in mind, with the target to achieve 200M deliveries without waste by 2025.

Shippit ranked #23 on the AFR Fast 100 List in 2021, and in acknowledgement of its values-led culture, it ranked #9 in Linkedin’s Hottest Startups to work at in that same year. They have catered lunch on Tuesdays, free gym memberships alongside their weekly Barry’s sessions, and other socials like wine tastings. SafetyCulture is a B2B SaaS company valued at $2.2B. Its mobile-first operations platform powers over 600 million checks per year, approximately 50,000 lessons per day and millions of corrective actions, giving leaders visibility and workers a voice in driving safety, quality and efficiency improvements.

SafetyCulture is a certified Best Place to Work employer, and ranked 4th Best Place to Work in 2020. Their Surry Hills HQ is known for its uniquely customer centric rooms, energy conscious architecture, rooftop bar, and a full commercial kitchen where employees are treated to breakfast and lunch daily by a team of onsite chefs. Dovetail was certified as a Great Place to Work in 2021, and is currently part of Project F’s Program 50/50, a diversity and inclusion initiative. Their dog friendly office has free snacks, coffee and beer tap, as well as a pool table and lounge area. Mr Yum is an ordering, payments, and marketing platform for hospitality and entertainment venues. They’re accomplishing this through a suite of features including QR code ordering, payments, loyalty, marketing and customer insights.

My Yum was named #4 in the LinkedIn’s top startups to work for in 2021. They have a remote friendly work environment, quarterly recognition program, and leading parental leave for both primary and non-primary carers at 16 weeks fully paid. Mr Yum also puts employee mental wellbeing first with free access to online mental health and wellbeing resources, as well as unlimited mental health days.

Eucalyptus is a healthcare technology company building digital consumer products. They currently have five offerings in the market: men’s health brand Pilot, women’s fertility and telehealth service Kin, skincare brand Software, menopause treatment service Juniper, and sexual wellness company Normal.

Eucalyptus was ranked 5th on the LinkedIn Top Startups List 2021, and was recognised for its employee growth and jobseeker interest amongst other successes. They have a buzzing office with free snacks and drinks, plenty of social events, as well as a range of social clubs for employees to join, including a Chai club and Yum Cha club. In addition, they also prioritise employee growth and development with a personal learning budget.
