ProSiebenSat.1 has long ceased to be a pure-play media company. It has systematically digitalized and diversified its business, acting in a diverse environment with constantly changing requirements and demands. Instead, it is systematically digitalizing and diversifying its business. It is a diverse environment with constantly changing requirements and demands. Our workplace infrastructure was dated. As a result, it was not so easy to respond quickly and comprehensively to new challenges arising all over the place. On one side there was pandemic-based remote work and distributed teams, on the other side there was an overwhelming set of SaaS and on-premises applications which needed to be sorted and eventually implemented. We had to break out of our routines and challenge the status quo.

Why Modern Workplace?

· We improve our employee’s performance and satisfaction.

· We foster collaboration, independent of the employee’s client or location.

· We save time due to process optimization and direct shipment of hardware.

· We save money using cloud management and reducing the number of on-premises applications and backends, instead we focus on streamlining processes and making our services even more accessible.

Adapting to modern IT

The Modern Workplace is evolving at a fast pace. Brand-new services and offerings are developing rapidly, and so do complex security as well as data privacy issues. The right foundation and the right set and use of digital tools can help connect and support employees on their digital journeys, wherever they are.

The last thing we want our employees to care about is their managed client and our offered services. We don’t strive for a perfect world scenario. However, we want to limit interruption to a bare minimum, making sure our colleagues can solely focus on their work!

Using services like Microsoft Intune in combination with Windows Autopilot enables us to save a severe amount of time preparing and setting up new clients. We can configure specific policies to control the use of applications, for example to prevent data from being sent to people outside the company. We can even consider the allowance of personal devices (BYOD), since we can make sure our organization’s data is secured.

Microsoft offers a holistic eco-system. Cross-platform communication using Teams, hassle-free filesharing using OneDrive, automated workflows based on Power Automate, working together using co-authoring in Word and Excel and many more.

Cloud-based management and device enrollment as well as cloud-based security to ensure the user is protected no matter where he might be are all part of modern workplace.

Hence, it requires a very different set of skills and knowledge from an IT team.

We see our responsibility not only in implementing all tools and services necessary to support a modern workplace approach, but we also believe we must support our business colleagues as much as we can on our company-wide digital transformation.

This is a great opportunity for everyone involved to learn and to grow individually. We don’t see the Modern Workplace as a short-term project, it is more an operational setup which helps to meet both physical and technological needs of our business.

For us it is our opportunity to challenge the status quo and improve our operations and evolve as a team, as a department.
