For countless years, Android tablets have been incoherent and unintuitive disasters. Even after most companies gave up, the remaining tablets, primarily Samsung’s, haven’t really had a place in the market. Sure, Samsung has offered its budget-focused Tab A lineup, but most of these offerings have been too slow and cheaply made to make them worth buying.

On the other end of the spectrum, Samsung has its Tab S lineup which has been the company’s flagship tablets. In the past, however, while these tablets have undercut Apple’s offerings in price, they haven’t been quite nice enough to compete with the iPad Pros, and they’ve been too expensive to be seen as value-oriented offerings.

Fortunately, Samsung took a different approach with this year’s lineup. For instance, Samsung’s tablet lineup now consists of three devices, the Tab S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra, which provides a wider range of prices and potential customers. Not only that, but Samsung unapologetically committed to making a full-blown powerhouse tablet that can easily fight toe-to-toe with the best of Apple’s iPads.
