In the early 1900s, electric cars were quite a common sight. They were quiet, much more refined than the early gasoline motors, you didn’t have to manually crank the car to get it started, and you didn’t have to smell any exhaust. It seemed like electricity would be the future of automotive technology, and that there was practically no reason to buy a traditional gasoline vehicle.

That is, until the electric car lost its edge.

As the years went by, many factors, such as electric starters, cheaper oil, and the fact that battery technology had pretty much plateaued during this time period put the nail in the coffin for electric cars. Soon enough, a vast majority of people had gone back to using gasoline cars, and probably completely forgot about the electric vehicles of the past.

Realizing the Cons of Gasoline Vehicles

It barely took a few decades to realize a glaring problem that gasoline vehicles had. The main problem was smog and pollution.
