A concept art for the Lenovo Z5 was released by VP of the company Chang Cheng. the executive posted a picture of the sketch on Weibo and said the concept is for the Z5, which is meant to be the company’s new flagship phone.

No more information has been released on the product, and there are inherent challenges with making the front of a phone close to 100 percent screen.

The difficulties range from being able to implement a front-facing camera, speakers and sensors to figuring out how to implement the industry standard fingerprint sensor. Many companies like Apple and Samsung have been attempting to place a fingerprint sensor underneath the touchscreen, but this wasn’t achieved until CES 2018 where Vivo unveiled the X20 Plus UD.

Many phone manufacturers, like Apple with the iPhone X, end up adding a notch to the top of the phone to compensate for some of these engineering challenges.

It is yet to be seen how Lenovo will surpass these hurdles, but only time will tell.
