Prosthetics make the world more accessible to amputees. But Canadian design studio ALLELES proves that artificial limbs can be so much more than just utilitarian devices — they can also be fashionable.

Inspired by mythical sirens, the Victorian age, and the individual styles of the wearers, dozens of eye-catching leg and arm covers are available online for you to peruse.

I don’t use prosthetics. However, as someone who has used several clunky assistive devices to help me walk or wheel around, I appreciate the effort that’s gone into creating these stunning ALLELES covers. They’ll attract stares for the right reasons.

The leg covers range from CAD$325 to CAD$515 and the arm covers cost CAD$395. If you have a particular style in mind or need a cover to match your outfit for a special event, all custom covers are made for a flat rate of CAD$1,500.
