Backbone one, an officially licensed controller for the iPhone unveiled
The Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller for the iPhone has been released in a few countries. iPhone users can now play PS5 and PS4 games directly on their devices with the PS Remote Play app and a controller connected to the phone. The app also enables PlayStation game play on PC, Mac, and Android devices. Naturally, you can play iPhone games from the App Store using the controller. Also available in November is the Android Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller. In PlayStation-related news, Sony has started distributing a new PS5 system software beta that supports 1440p.
Price and availability of the Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller for the iPhone
The Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller for the iPhone is available in Black and White and costs $99.99 (roughly Rs. 8,000) in the US. Sony and Backbone collaborated to launch the controller in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, the UK, and the US. The controller will eventually be sold in more countries.
The Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller for Android, as previously mentioned, will start shipping in November and will cost the same $99.99 (roughly Rs. 8,000) as the controller for iPhone.
Features of the Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller
The White version of the controller has the same button layout as the DualSense controller. The Black color option includes the Xbox controller button layout. According to a PlayStation blog, “elegant colors, materials, and finishes of the PS5 console’s DualSense wireless controller, right down to the transparent face buttons and its visually distinctive, floating appearance” was the inspiration for the Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller for iPhone.
As was already mentioned, Backbone One also supports games from the App Store like Genshin Impact, Fantasian, and Call of Duty: Mobile as well as other game streaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming. The Backbone App can be used to customize your PlayStation experience and includes PlayStation integrations, such as the ability to browse hundreds of game titles and create unique glyphs. The controller does not require charging because it is powered by the iPhone device.
Additionally, purchasing a Backbone One entitles you to play more than 350 video games on a console. A two-month trial of Google Stadia Pro and three months of access to customized emoji, longer messages, and server-specific profiles on Discord Nitro are included with the controller. It features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a low-latency connection, supports screenshots and game clips, and can be collapsed. The buttons comprise a Backbone App launch button, a screenshot button, and a mute button.
The release of a new PS5 system software beta to selected participants in a few countries, which now includes 1440p support, game lists, and other updates, is another PlayStation-related development. The 1440p HDMI video output is now supported by the PS5 beta, giving users access to an additional visual setting on compatible PC monitors and TVs. Additionally, supersampling down from a higher native resolution (like 4K) to 1440p output will give players better anti-aliasing.
