Freelancing, or working remotely, has become quite a popular practice in recent years. After all, not many companies, especially young companies, have the space necessary for everyone they hire. This is precisely why they opt for hiring freelancers or outsourcing. However, this doesn’t mean that office work is going to become obsolete. Actually, precisely because working from home is so popular now, companies put even more effort into creating a positive, functional and inspirational office environment. There are many benefits of working from home, but freelancing may not be for everyone. This is why you may be interested to know more about the benefits of working in the office, as a part of the team.

You get to interact with other people

Working as a freelancer can help you boost your CV, take projects you want and enjoy your privacy at the same time. However, some people cannot work efficiently when at home. Not to mention that working remotely also means that your daily interactions will be quite limited. In the office, on the other hand, you get to interact with other people. They can be your team members and colleagues, and some of you may even share the same profession and interests. Socializing with your colleagues a bit can be very relaxing, especially when you need to take a break from work. Not to mention that simply talking to others can affect your health and mood. What’s more, going to the office means that you can meet new people who can easily become your friends outside of work as well. Obviously, you can’t get along with everyone, but being a part of the team in a company office still leaves you with a bunch of opportunities for professional socializing as well as closer relationships with people that you do get along with.

Meeting people while working at the company holds a great advantage for you professionally as well, since you’ll get to know people with different backgrounds and skill sets. At some point, these connections can help you launch your own business and/or personal projects. Also, you can even find like-minded individuals who would be willing to work on these projects together with you.

Meetings in person

One of the great advantages of working as a freelancer is that you do it from the comfort of your home and you can work anywhere in the world, for any client. The big disadvantage is that you cannot meet many of those people personally.

Of course, there are technological solutions to this problem, such as email or a video conference. However, there are certain goals that can only be achieved or details that can only be discussed in personal meetings. For example, by meeting with a client, you can sell your proposal more effectively and the client can form a better opinion about you and vice versa.

Meetings in person are not only beneficial for client communication but team communication as well. Brainstorming or some other creative strategy is much easier if you all meet in the same place, with a team leader, so that you can all focus together on new ideas and solutions.

You’re all set for work in the office

If you work as a freelancer it is important to have an organized workspace. In an office, this is a given, as you will have your own desk ready for you with all the tools you could possibly need to do your job efficiently. Essentially, it’s the company’s duty to provide you with everything you need in order to work with no issues or distractions.

As a freelancer, you are in charge of getting everything you need for work and you will have to deal with certain inconveniences such as power cuts in the area due to maintenance, for example. In these situations, you can lose hours from your workday. In an office, these situations are usually solved with a generator, and even when they’re not, the situation can be justified easier.

It’s also important to note that an office with a good work environment has restrooms and a small kitchen where employees can get coffee or simply sit down together for lunch. They are also likely to have air conditioning for those hot summer days. In one way or another, a workspace in the office offers certain advantages that are difficult to achieve if you work from home.

An office can be a comfortable place

An organized work environment and friendly colleagues can make you feel very comfortable in the office. After all, even though most of your time in your office is about work, it’s also about socializing and interacting with other people. It’s also very common for companies to organize events and team buildings so that their workers can get to know each other better. Of course, in the end, it all depends on how much you like your job. Only then can you truly enjoy the atmosphere in the office.
