While based on academic techniques developed in the 1970s, it’s only over the last few years that Deep Learning has become truly powerful, feeding off the massive datasets from ubiquitous mobile devices, internet enabled businesses, and “data is the new oil” corporate mindsets. It’s applications span from accurately diagnosing tumor growth, speeding up drug discovery, predicting economic events, driving autonomously, and generating new chapters of Harry Potter books, among others.

Each week, I’ll call out one short piece along with my thoughts/summary, with the aim of giving you a slightly deeper understanding of the space. They won’t be highly technical – just a gentle introduction to the field.

Feel free to forward this to anyone you think is interested!
