Facebook is shutting down Moments on Feb 25, here’s how you can save all your photos

Facebook Moments, the standalone mobile app designed which let users privately share their photos and videos, is shutting down next month on Feb 25. Talking about Facebook is shutting down Moments on Feb 25, here’s how you can save all your photos, Facebook confirmed the app’s services will end February 25. Facebook decided to end support for the app, which hasn’t been updated in some time because many people weren’t using it.

Moments users will see a message warning them of the imminent end of the app. Below message is an option to export photos and videos. There are two export options for Moments users, which user can access the website version of the Moments app. The user can create a private album on their Facebook account; the other option is to download everything to their preferred device.

Users can able to start the export from any device. If the user creates private Facebook albums, they’ll see a link next to each moment below which is ready to view as an album on Facebook.

For users who opt to download their all file, they’ll need to enter their Facebook password when prompted. The files available will be shown along with the file size and users will be able to select the quality of the file — high, medium or low. Then The Moments app will email a link and notify the user on Facebook once it’s ready to be downloaded.

We Believe Moments, which was first launched in 2015, has seen some competition from other Facebook products in recent times, which might have led to its demise. For Example, Facebook built out its new Stories feature, which has a direct sharing option. This option, which is designed for one-offs and not whole albums, did allow users to skip the Moments app entirely in order to privately send or share photos with a select friend or group of friends.
