Artificial Intelligence (AI) is undoubtedly one of the most widespread technologies. It has left every industry vertical untouched, including content writing.

Writing ✍️an informative blog post or a compelling copy for marketing or email campaigns requires hours. Artificial intelligence 🤖has made this task happen within minutes using AI content writing tools.

These tools have gained traction in recent years, as millions of websites use them to create content within a fraction of the time.

As a content creator, you know the pain of curating content — whether a blog post or copy for website promotion. Isn’t it time-consuming? This is where the role of AI content writing tools comes into play. Ideating concepts 💡and writing exciting content 📝without any typos and grammatical errors.

Though these tools offer immense benefits and save time, there are considerable setbacks.

I am completely not in favor of these tools 🙅. The reason is that such tools are trained with limited data and perform accordingly. Though they create content based on the provided keywords, they do not have emotional intelligence.

People are more likely to read and engage in content that shares personal experiences. In addition, content with experiences provides more value and learning to others. As a result, AI-generated content does not incorporate the personal experience.

So, if you plan to use any of the available AI writing tools, you must know their pros and cons.

Let us start with the pros!

5 Pros of Using AI Writing Tools

Many small-scale businesses, enterprises, and even marketing companies leverage these tools for one or the other reason. Either they want to accelerate the content production process or replace their team of content writers and editors to cut the cost.

Here are some remarkable benefits of AI content writing tools:

1. Helps Create Content Quickly

No doubt, AI-powered tools assist you in creating content quickly within no time. This enables people to focus on their businesses rather than investing time and money in creating content manually.

Besides, these tools save writers from mental exhaustion and burnout. This way, organizations can scale their content creation capacity quickly.

2. Eliminates Typos and Grammatical Errors

Human written content may contain typos and grammatical errors. Writing tools. You can enjoy peace of mind regarding grammatical errors, punctuation marks, incomplete sentences, and inconsistent use of verbs.

Besides producing content free of typos and errors, these tools help you put relevant ideas together and suggest which sentences to use.

3. Incorporates Info from Top-Performing Pages

AI writing tools go through all the top-performing pages for the query you input and generate unique content. This ensures that your content contains all the necessary information and provides detailed insights into the topics.

You need to take care of plagiarism and content spinning. If your content seems to be paraphrased, Google penalizes it. So, it is better to check AI-generated content for plagiarism and spinning.

4. Produce Several Content Copies Everyday

AI writing tools can produce copies in bulk. As a result, you can create two to three content copies in a day.

But what is essential is the quality of content and not the quantity. Create more copies only if you have issues driving more traffic to your website. However, ensure to maintain top-notch quality.

5. Reduced Cost

Employing an AI writing tool reduces the cost of hiring a team of writers. The tools themselves can generate any number of copies. You need to buy the subscription.

5 Cons of Using AI Writing Tools

Although these tools generate comprehensive content within a short time, think twice before you publish it because of the following setbacks:

1. Don’t Evoke Human Emotions

As I mentioned in the introduction, using AI writing tools does not incorporate human emotions into the content. What makes content more engaging is storytelling.

However, these tools collect content from top-ranking pages and generate similar unique content. This means no new experience will be added, and there is no guarantee that the article or copy will resonate with your target audience.

2. Produce Incoherent Phrases

Though these tools generate error-free content, don’t expect the sentences t be perfectly coherent. Some of the sentences in the content may not be articulated well, resulting in vague information.

AI writing tools can only absorb data and create content that adheres to the rules it is fed with. They do not combine content logically.

So, AI-generated content needs editing. You must check whether paragraphs fit one after the other logically. Also, you must ensure to remove all redundant information.

3. Don’t Adhere to the Latest Google Guidelines

Not all AI writing tools adhere to Google’s latest guidelines. Google updates its ranking algorithms frequently, and it currently prioritizes people-first content. Though Google does not classify AI-generated content, it will not rank if it does not provide additional value to users besides content from other top sources.

4. Boring and Monotonous Content

These tools cannot create content beyond what they are programmed to do. They search from top-performing websites, analyze their content, and curate their own. They do not verify the data they use. As a result, AI-generated content may produce erroneous or outdated content.

5. Does Not Reflect Your Brand Voice

When you create a copy using AI tools to promote your brand on multiple channels, it does not match or reflect your brand. The reason is the same — such tools refer to other top articles to generate a copy.

Only a skilled copywriter can curate copies that reflect your brand.

Should You Use an AI Writing Tool? 🤔

Now you know the pros and cons of using AI writing tools. Though these tools help create content quickly and in bulk, they lack human emotions, experiences, imagination, and creativity. Also, AI-generated content may sometimes need to be revised and updated.

So, think twice before publishing AI-generated content on your websites.
