Extreme close up to Beirut’s Harvest Moon

It is called a harvest moon and it gives out the impression that the moon is a lot bigger than usual. This full moon rises with the setting of the sun and is at the nearest point to the autumn equinox in the northern hemisphere. What also made this day extra special is the fact that a lunar eclipse happened on this harvest moon and we won’t see anything like it until 2024.

Here are a few pictures I took around Beirut on Friday’s Harvest Moon:

Large orange tinted Harvest Moon appearing over Beirut at sunset time
Close up to the full moon showing a silhouette of a building under construction
Full moon over Ashrafieh casting a purple haze over the city
Light of full moon mixing with the city lights of Beirut
