Tips & Tricks to join Medium Partner Program — Non-strike countries
Step by step guide to register in Medium Partner program from countries where Stripe is not available
I have started writing & reading on Medium for a while during this pandemic. I enjoy the whole process of writing, publishing, getting claps, and knowing other part of world through words.
Yesterday I successfully joined the Medium Partner Program (MPP) from India.
While scanning through the internet to find out any workaround to join the Medium Partner Program (MPP) from non-stripe supported countries, I couldn’t find one legit article and finally got this Indian article. This article a detailed guide through various processes for joining the MPP.
I would suggest you to follow the tips below which is updated one and steps not mentioned in any article!
Before heading to it, we should have an payment account that accept international payouts like Payoneer or Transfer-wise. Oh, they don’t accept PayPal or any other than this.
Note: Request you to do this in Fast & Secure browser either in Brave or Chrome browser with VPN Extension!!!
Register & Sign up with Payoneer
I would suggest you to go along with the process while filling in the necessary details including the bank accounts you want to get transferred.
A Important step to be done is as follows:
- Pan card & Bank account is Required to set up.
- Do type in the exact name details that’s issued in both identity and bank details
- See that you don’t mismatch any information provided.
- Select other services from drop down menu when asked.
- Verify your account to be approved at the end successfully.

6. IEC code is not needed ( Only for goods services ).
7. Wait till you get the approval mail from them or verify your account further if prompted.
You are now all set to register for the Medium Partner Program (MPP). Please follow the rest of the steps in the article to join the MPP.

Ps: Non-stripe countries will not be allowed to click the “Continue to payout setup” to enable that, switch the VPN to US location and reload once!
Important steps to be followed:
- Fill in the exact details from that of payoneer account.
- Select US for Country doing business in.
- Leads to Stripe account either sign in or sign up if not have one.
- Enter the US business address & Phone number (probably with help of known people from US or random)
This step is tedious one where I got stuck with, Make sure you enter valid address & phone number of US in the business section of Stripe until the prompt invalid goes off.
5. Fill the bank details of routing & account number from Payoneer-> Receive->Global Payment Service->Virtual US account->Details (copy& paste)
5. Business website will be pre-filled with our medium profile ID and add any name for business name for payouts or as Medium.
Note: You have to fill US business section details valid until it accepts. Would suggest you to seek help from Relatives/friends in US or type in random, it may work sometimes!
The management and ownership section is where all get stumbled upon so did I, this section can later be verified again till then you have to go through others patiently.
6. SSN(social security Number) a 9 digit number where US permanent residents possess for tax, wages purposes. Hopefully, this will be last one to pass the test.
I searched for random SSN generator and pasted one. By some luck when clicked the submit button, Successfully entered the MPP🧙♂️
7. One more step, Tax submission form where you should enter current home address as from Payoneer with Pan card number.
8. Select W-8ben in the drop down of tax form & Agree to all terms n Services followed by.
Yup!, it’s done. Now that you have to curate really Good content in order to get reach, claps, views so that you may earn well!
More to be taken care of :
- when logged into stripe account, update them with proper SSN number in order to get payouts else the payout will be paused for 1st month. I would suggest you to take time to get legit SSN number from relatives /friends in order to not get notified again on this process or use random SSN.
- Finish the verification steps in Payoneer on what business you working on.
To be honest, even I didn’t get the process done on SSN waiting for that one Saviour 🧚♂️ out there! At same time, helping you out writing this article to get pass like I did.
