A combination like Mac and gaming doesn’t quite go together, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. On the contrary, switching from Intel processors to Apple Silicon’s solution has brought some exciting changes. Specifically, the performance of Apple’s computers has increased, making it possible to use even a regular MacBook Air to play some games.

While it’s unfortunately not as rosy as we might expect, several exciting and fun titles are still available. We shone a light on a few of them and tested them on a MacBook Air with the base M1 chip (in an 8-core GPU configuration).

Before we look at the titles we tested, let’s talk about the limitations of gaming on Macs. Unfortunately, developers often don’t even prepare their games for macOS, and because of this, we are deprived of many titles. But as mentioned above, we still have more than enough games available — with a little exaggeration, we need to be a little more modest.
