The Galaxy S23 series from Samsung was launched earlier this month and undoubtedly delivers top-notch hardware and performance. But some owners are complaining of Wi-Fi issues. As Android Central pointed out over the weekend, Samsung’s latest flagship phones seem to be having some trouble staying connected to wireless networks, with the Galaxy S23 Ultra expected to be the most affected.

The phone reports that it is “connected without internet” even though the network is working normally. The whole issue could be primarily related to Wi-Fi 6 networks, specifically the new IEEE 802.11ax modulation standard or the WPA3 protocol. Users on Reddit report that Samsung support representatives are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it.

But the recent February 2023 security patch, the first ever update for the S23 device, doesn’t seem to have completely resolved the situation. Fortunately, it looks like the connectivity issues aren’t occurring on the Wi-Fi 5 networks that most users are still using. A March security patch due out within the next week could bring a solution, but Samsung hasn’t confirmed that yet. Let’s hope it actually does.
