CHART: How prepared and vulnerable are African countries for the Coronavirus epidemic?
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic has spread from China to 25 countries since December 2019, with Egypt and Algeria recording the first two confirmed cases of the viral disease in Africa this month. In this Techloy infographic, we examine the preparedness and vulnerability of selected African countries against their risk of importation of COVID-19, based on data from The Lancet, showing that Egypt, Algeria, and South Africa are the countries with the highest importation risk of the coronavirus disease from China, while Sudan, Angola, Ethiopia and Nigeria have the highest vulnerability risk.
