FirstMobile Puts Users More In Control With New Features

FirstMobile, which is, First Bank of Nigeria’s mobile banking app has added four new features — Card-in-Control functionality, Quick Response (QR) Code, Transaction receipt and Save beneficiary functions — that puts its users more in control of their banking experience.

With Card-in-Control functionality, users can control which transaction channels such as ATM, POS or Online and countries where their cards can be used, thus preventing unauthorised usage of their cards.

Using the QR Code feature, customers would be able to pay for products and services directly from the account by using their phone cameras to scan QR codes at merchant locations or uploading a QR code on a smart phone via the FirstMobile App.

For customers that prefer to view a receipt of their transactions, the app can now allow them to generate receipts after any transaction. And with the Save Beneficiary feature, customers can save beneficiary details for future transactions.

The four new features come in addition to the existing ones on the app, including domestic funds transfers, airtime purchase for self and others on all mobile networks, bill payments, cheque services, flight booking, and quick account services such as account balance inquiry and bank statement view.

The FirstMobile app which has seen over 1 million downloads on Google’s Playstore is also available on Blackberry World and Apple’s Appstore.
