Motorcycle-hailing service, Gokada to venture into water transportation

Bike-hailing service, Gokada, which recently raised $5.3 million in Series A funding led by Rise Capital, is planning to launch a water transport service called GBoat, as it attempts to help Lagosians reduce the time spent in traffic gridlocks.

Gokada’s GBoat service is powered by LagosBoats, a boat membership service with a mission to make the Lagos waterways accessible to all, in a luxurious, sustainable and pleasurable way.

The service, which will launch on June 13, will be available in three routes, namely, Lekki, Ikoyi and Victoria Island.

It is expected that it would expand to other routes such as Ajah, Ikorodu, Apapa and Takwa Bay in the future.
