These two African startups will join Dubai-based fintech accelerator programme
The FinTech Hive’s 2018 accelerator has selected Nigeria’s Amplified Payment System and Egypt’s PaySky to join this year’s fintech accelerator programme.
Amplified Payments, founded in 2015 by Segun Adeyemi, connects banks, telecos and businesses to their customers to drive adoption of digital financial services through messaging, while PaySky, founded in 2016 by Waleed Sadek describes itself as a next-generation, multi-channel payment solution empowering consumers and businesses to pay and get paid.
The accelerator programme, now in its 2nd year, consists of a 12-week curriculum in which a group of selected finalists work closely with financial institutions and other stakeholders to create innovative and forward-looking solutions that aim to address the evolving needs of the region’s financial services industry.
According to FinTech Hive, in a blog post, over 300 startups from around the world applied to join this year’s programme, but only 22 startups were selected.
The Dubai-based accelerator claims to be the first and largest financial technology accelerator in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region.
