If you are learning how to code and you dream of collaborating with other developers, GitHub is your path to making your dream come true!

✨ Why GitHub?

You may ask: what is GitHub and why is it so powerful?

📚 Let’s See This in More Detail:

When you are introduced to version control, you start learning & working with git to store different versions of your project in your computer (locally).

The power of git is truly amazing: you can create commits, branches and much more, but… there is something missing, don’t you think?

How is it possible that developers can collaborate remotely, across the world if git only stores your repositories locally in your computer?

How can everyone in the team have access to the project?

🔥 This is where GitHub comes to the rescue!

If you create an account on GitHub.com and start working with the wonderful features they offer, your world as a developer will change, let’s see why:

GitHub Workflow

🔧 Basic Workflow

To start working with GitHub, you:

  • Create a repository using git.
  • You send it to a remote repository that you create on your GitHub account with all your commits, files & branches.
  • Then other developers can contribute to your project by downloading the entire repository to their computers.
  • They submit changes directly to your remote repository on GitHub’s website.
  • And you can then import those changes to your computer and start the process again, sending new changes to GitHub!

This is how collaboration truly unlocks! Amazing, right? ⭐️
