Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Title after title raced by as I scrolled through my drafts folder.

At some point, I thought this would be a good idea for an article;

‘Don’t Take the Easy Option if You Want to Grow’

It never got out of the blocks.

Then there are the ones that did.

They didn’t do much better.

I started to analyse my titles and I noticed a trend.

Many of my articles are directed at ‘you’ or people in general.

‘This is why YOUR articles aren’t getting the views.’

Who is ‘YOU’?

‘You’, in this case, is everybody on the internet.

That’s my audience.

That’s who I’m directing my articles at.

I somehow thought that if I directed my articles to every person with an internet connection I couldn’t go wrong.

The paradox of generalisation
