Writing is only a small part of the process of making a living as a writer. One dirty little word keeps popping up, no matter if you are looking for clients, subscribers, readers, or whatever else you can imagine.

I think you know what it is and that’s marketing.

You can be the best writer in the world but fail at building an audience if you don’t know how to market yourself. Now, you might be one of those “passion” writers who are only in it for the love of writing or whatever reason that helps you sleep better at night.

Obviously, this article isn’t for you.

On the other hand, keep on reading if you want to know the ancient secrets of marketing yourself as a writer.

Write All Day and Every Day

The first step in being seen as a writer is to never stop writing.

How else can you compete against the sea of endless content without turning yourself into a machine? Speaking of machines, some people turn to AI to churn out an endless stream of crap.
