My Two Years on Medium: A Timeless Romance
Reflecting on the enduring love affair with Medium over the past two years
I joined Medium two years ago because I was looking for a platform to share my thoughts and ideas with a larger audience.
As a writer, I have always been drawn to the power of the written word to inspire, inform, and engage readers.
When I first discovered Medium, I was immediately struck by the platform’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community of writers and readers.
The range of topics covered on Medium is truly staggering, and the platform’s emphasis on quality writing and thoughtful discourse make it a unique and compelling destination for anyone looking to share their ideas and perspectives with the world.
But for me, the biggest reason I decided to join Medium was the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals from all walks of life. Whether through the comments section of an article or through the various writing groups and communities on the platform, Medium provides endless opportunities for writers to engage with each other and learn from one another.
In my time on the platform, I have had the chance to read and learn from some of the most talented and insightful writers out there, and I am constantly amazed by the wealth of knowledge and expertise that can be found on Medium.
How does Medium help me in grooming?
Medium has completely transformed the way I consume and share knowledge. Before finding this platform, I struggled to find high-quality articles and insights on the topics that I was interested in. I often found myself wading through clickbait headlines and low-quality content, which was frustrating and time-consuming.
Medium has changed all of that for me. The platform is curated, which means that only the best content is selected and published. This has helped me to discover some truly amazing writers and thinkers, and I have learned so much from reading their work.
One of the things that I love most about Medium is the diverse range of topics that are covered. From personal development and productivity to technology and culture, there is something for everyone on this platform. This has helped me to broaden my horizons and learn about subjects that I might not have otherwise encountered.
In addition to consuming content, I have also started to contribute my own writing to Medium. This has been a great way for me to improve my own skills and share my thoughts and ideas with a wider audience. I have received a lot of positive feedback on my articles, which has been incredibly encouraging.
Why can’t I join Medium Partner Program?
As a writer and content creator based in Pakistan, I have always been a fan of the platform Medium. It’s a place where I can share my ideas, thoughts, and experiences with a global audience, and potentially earn some extra income through the Medium Partner Program. However, when I tried to sign up for the program, I was disappointed to discover that it is not available in my country.
This is a huge disappointment, as I have seen so many fellow writers and creators from around the world benefiting from the program. It allows them to monetize their work and receive a share of the revenue generated from their articles. As someone who writes regularly and dedicates a lot of time and effort to creating quality content, it would have been a great opportunity for me to earn some extra income.
But sadly, due to my location, I am unable to join the Medium Partner Program. It’s a shame that I am unable to take advantage of this opportunity simply because of where I am based. It feels like a barrier to my growth as a writer and content creator.
I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. Many other writers and creators from Pakistan and other countries are also unable to join the Medium Partner Program due to geographical restrictions. It’s frustrating that we are unable to access this opportunity, especially when we see others from around the world benefitting from it.
It’s a sad reality that we cannot earn from Medium through the Partner Program, but it doesn’t stop me from continuing to write and share my content on the platform. I will continue to hope that one day, the program will be available to writers and creators from Pakistan and other countries that are currently excluded. Until then, I will continue to create and share my work on Medium, and look for other ways to monetize my content.
How do I make money on Medium?
Frustrated but determined, I began searching for other ways to earn money through my writing. That’s when I stumbled upon copywriting for other medium writers. It was a new concept for me, but I was willing to give it a try.
I started by reaching out to other writers and offering my services as a copywriter. It was a slow process at first, but as I gained more experience and clients, I began to see the potential for this career path.
Now, I spend my days working as a freelance copywriter, helping other writers craft their stories and reach a wider audience. It’s not exactly what I had planned, but I’ve learned to embrace the unexpected and make the most of every opportunity.
I may not be able to earn money through the medium partner program, but I’ve found a way to make a living doing what I love — writing. And for that, I am grateful.
My 3 best writers on Medium so far
As a writer, I am always on the lookout for inspiration and guidance from other writers. On Medium, I have discovered some amazing writers who have consistently impressed me with their talent and insight. Here are my top three favorite writers on Medium:
First on my list is Rachel Thompson . Her writing is raw, honest, and relatable, tackling difficult topics such as mental health and addiction with grace and vulnerability. I am constantly moved by her ability to share her own experiences in a way that resonates with her readers and inspires them to be their best selves.
Next up is Kesi Parker. His writing on technology and culture is always thought-provoking and well-researched. I have learned so much from his articles, and I always look forward to seeing what he has to say next.
Last but not least, I have to mention wordsmithwriter. His writing on self-improvement, Technology, and productivity is always insightful and motivating. I have found his articles to be incredibly useful in my own personal and professional development.
Will I quit Medium?
As I sat at my desk, staring at the blank screen in front of me, I couldn’t help but wonder, “Will I leave Medium?” It’s a question that has been on my mind a lot lately.
I’ve been writing on this platform for the past year, pouring my heart and soul into each and every article. I’ve built up a decent following and have even had a few pieces go viral.
But as I scrolled through my feed, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of disillusionment. It seems like everywhere I look, people are more interested in sensationalized headlines and quick hits of validation rather than meaningful, thought-provoking content.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful for the opportunities that Medium has provided me. But at the same time, I can’t shake the feeling that I’m not making the impact that I want to make.
I’m at a crossroads and I’m not sure which path to take. Do I stay on this platform and continue to try and make a difference, or do I look for a new outlet to share my ideas? It’s a tough decision and one that I don’t take lightly.
I’m torn between my love for writing and the feeling that I’m just a small fish in a very big pond. It’s a constant battle, but ultimately, I know that I need to do what’s best for me and my career.
So for now, I’ll continue to write and see where it takes me. But the question of “Will I leave Medium?” still lingers in the back of my mind. Only time will tell what the future holds.

>Challenges and Struggles
Like any creative pursuit, writing on Medium has had its ups and downs. There have been times when I’ve struggled to find my voice and moments when my words have been met with criticism or misunderstanding. But through it all, I’ve tried to stay true to myself and the message that I want to share with the world.
>Helping Other Medium Authors
In addition to writing on Medium myself, I also offer a Fiverr gig where I help other Medium authors with their writing. I love being able to use my skills and knowledge to support other writers and help them share their stories with the world.
