Priorities, Time is Fleeting
Read the book “Tuesdays at Morries,” a true story.
From the story “Tuesdays with Morrie,” we get to know the significant things in life.
What’s the most important thing in your life for you? Is it your family with whom you live, like your husband, wife, children and parents?
Morrie Schwartz said something that was crucial in the book. He said that illness made him see what really matters.
He said: “The unconditional love and support of your family is what is most important.”
He stated, “If you don’t have the family’s love and support that will be like a bedrock, then you don’t have a lot. Love is the most important thing in the world.”
There’s a quote from Shakespeare that goes:
Time goes by so fast.
It means that we don’t have much time, so we should not use it in vain.

There’s another song too which is called “The Cat’s in the Cradle” by Harry Chapin. The story is about a dad who is not usually there for his son.
The boy wants to become like his father, but the father is too busy with work. Next, the father wants to spend time with his son, the son is very busy.
- I still remember the day my children were born. They were twins, and that was a big surprise. At that time, we didn’t have the technology to know we were carrying two babies until they were born.
- Today, they’re grown up already and have their own lives. My wife died about a decade ago, and I am 81 years old. Time, it seems, goes by so fast.
The author of “The Cat’s in the Cradle,” Harry Chapin, passed away in a car accident in 1981. It was his wife who wrote a poem that he used as a source of inspiration for the song. The death of the character makes us realize that the meaning of the song is so powerful.
The song shows that, with time, the way relationships evolve.
When the son is small, he worships his dad and wants to be like him. However, his dad is too busy to be around him.
Then, when the son’s life becomes full and he has his own family, he doesn’t have time for his dad. It’s tough because they both want to spend time together, but they can’t.
The song is the reminder that time is passing by too quickly, and we should use the time wisely, which we have with our loved ones. We should not postpone when we should spend time with them.
