I snapped a photo of my buddy and asked MJ to reimagine it through the lenses of famous photographers: Mondino, Mario Testino, Ellen von Unwerth, Steven Meisel, Peter Lindbergh, Richard Avedon, Patrick Demarchelier

The results floored me. It’s the transformation you expect from a photographer — selecting a model from a snapshot, then through the magic of makeup, light, and scenery, a metamorphosis occurs. The artist alters the model yet preserves their inherent human identity.

The emergence of this new tool opens a chapter full of ethical questions:

  • Who owns the rights to these creations: The photographer? The model? MJ? Me (haha)?
  • How and who will protect the models’ likenesses, with much of their work in the public domain?
  • What’s the future of fashion photography?

Time will tell, as we watch this unfold, capturing the essence of human identity amidst the digital revolution.
