Why Medium Isn’t Communicating with Writers About the MPP Launch ?

Is it Time for Indian Writers to Move On?

I recently wrote an article about “Should Indian writers just quit writing on Medium” because that’s the only option we have been left with.

Medium has totally ignored the delay in launching the Medium Partner Program (MPP) in India. It’s been six months, and Medium acts like it’s not even a problem. Lots of writers, including myself, have tried reaching out to Medium’s big shots, but they seem to just not care.

We’re all excited about MPP coming to India, but Medium’s silence is frustrating. We put our heart and soul into writing, only to be met with silence from the platform.

I’ve personally tried reaching out to Medium’s executives multiple times, but it’s like talking to a brick wall —

Along with these articles, sending numerous emails to Medium support, we’ve heard nothing back. It’s frustrating because we’re still in the dark about the delayed launch of MPP in India.

But the big question is “ Why is Medium staying silent ?” Well, there could be a few reasons behind it.

  1. Maybe they’re about to launch MPP soon, but it’s been six months already, so that seems unlikely.
  2. Another possibility is they’re still struggling to figure out how to handle payouts in countries like India, Brazil, and Thailand. They’ve delayed the launch 2 times before, so maybe they’re embarrassed about it.
  3. Or perhaps they just don’t care about launching MPP in these countries and are making excuses to delay indefinitely.

If it’s a problem with Stripe in India, why not use other services like PayPal or Razorpay?

Or if it’s something else, why not just tell us? , as I said in my last article

How hard it is to write a single piece of article ? It doesn’t take 4 months, I guess so..

Which leads me onto the 3rd reason, the lack of communication from Medium executives makes me believe that they just don’t want to launch their partner program in India and other countries and so are just making silly excuses to halt for unlimited duration.

And If that’s the case, then I’m done with Medium. I’ve decided to take a break from the platform.

It’s not fair to keep writing articles every day without getting paid for it. It just feels like a waste of time.

— Guys please give us an update.
