Do you ever wonder if you write too much for Medium?

Do you ever think that quantity over quality may not be the best idea?

These thoughts run through my brain quite all the time. I know I can’t be the only one. As writers, many of us took writing classes in high school or college, where we were often told to spend lots of time crafting our writing, and then edit, edit, edit. All of this takes time.

You begin to write for Medium, and the prevailing ethos often seems to be, yes, quality writing is important, but …

We want continuous, frequent quality writing!

Just a little pressure to produce, eh?

As I was doing my daily Medium reading today, I came across this gem of an article, “You should Write as Many Crappy Articles as You Can” by Mathias Barra. It’s the kind of article that makes you change your way of thinking. Up until now, I have been somewhat bothered by the pressure to constantly produce. Granted, I put that pressure onto myself, and I kind of enjoy the pressure — but I wonder if my writing suffers as a result.

I’m interested in YOU. And a few other people. But definitely YOU. And dogs. Dogs are always interesting. But mostly YOU.
