Stock Markets have produced enormous amounts of wealth for investors over the years. Historically speaking, Equities have provided a great tool for investment & wealth building. Not to say, they haven’t seen their fair share of volatility and downturns. The Great Depression of the 1930s, Black Monday 1987, Dotcom Bubble of 2000 & the most recent Financial crisis of 2008–09 are some of the dark spots in the largely successful long term bull run in equity markets.

After the longest bull run in history, the biggest stock market (U.S equities) is at a turning point as the investors look towards the Federal Reserve to provide the impetus by lowering the interest rates. FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) has been cautiously optimistic about the U.S economy & has lowered the interest rate twice this year including the one today.

The move was already priced in but the investors are actually looking at the forward guidance from the U.S central bank. Fed Chair Jerome Powell refused to give any timeline on rate cuts except saying that the Bank would act as the economic situation warrants.
