Scientists might have discovered an unlikely source of Renewable energy

According to new research, water vapor in the atmosphere can become a source of renewable energy

Conventionally speaking, solar, wind & hydro are considered a sustainable source of renewable energy. Most of the renewable energy projects around the world employ these resources to generate power. However, scientists have been working to add more choices to this list — coming up with unlikely sources to generate sustainable power.

I have earlier written about the potential of Geothermal energy and two innovative, yet unusual ways to generate renewable energy — the first one being the “Anti-Solar Panels” which could charge at night and the other one was a different kind of solar panel which can charge when it rains.

Taking the idea of creating renewable energy from the water one step even further, Researchers at the Tel Aviv University have now generated low voltage charge from humidity in the atmosphere. Creating a voltage using only water and metal raises the prospect of batteries that can be charged with nothing but the humidity in the air.
