Medical Science has made some significant strides in the last few years. And we are moving to an era of non-invasive detection and treatment of different health conditions. One of the most effective ways to accomplish that has emerged from recent research, which is by looking at the blood samples of patients. On previous occasions, I have covered other studies doing the same — A blood test that detects 20 types of Cancer & a blood test that can predict your death.

Technology enablers like Big data in healthcare now let the researchers make predictions about health issues and disease outcomes based on a thorough analysis of large datasets. This is exactly what a team of researchers from the U.S & U.K in collaboration with the biotech company SomaLogic has set out to do.

A human body contains around 30,000 proteins responsible for regulating different biological processes. These DNA coded proteins can enter the bloodstream in two ways — first is the purposeful secretion in health or disease, and second is through leakage from damaged or dying cells.
