“All areas are relevant and you get to practice what you learn every day“

Why did you take the step to be a programmer?

To be able to build and create something from scratch, really fascinates me. I wanted to work with something where I feel I constantly learn, and at the same time create. When I first looked into programming I started to play with HTML and CSS. It was really fun to be able to create projects, the way I wanted them. I wanted to learn more - and started to look for schools. As I’ve already studied business for five years, I wasn’t that excited to study for a yet another long period. Therefore, this program fits me perfectly — a 12 week intense program.

“It’s very intense but that’s the point — and we learn so much.”

What do you think of the program?

The program is great. It’s very structured with lectures, individual assignments, group projects, guest lectures and contact with relevant companies. It is a perfect mix of scheduled work, and free time to work with your assignments. It’s very intense but that’s the point — and we learn so much.

“I’m starting to get a hang on how it works!”

Any tips for those that are thinking about joining next year?

Do it! You are going to learn a lot of new things. All areas are relevant and you get to practice what you learn every day, with full motivation surrounding you, from the teachers and from the class. It’s really a kick start if you want to learn programming.

What have been the most fun assignment so far?

The team project has been really fun, we learn from each other and create results based on everyone’s ideas. The individual assignments are of course also fun, you really need to put your learning into practice. It’s a great feeling when you succeed with something that you’ve been working on for a long time.

I think the most fun so far is the one I’m doing right now — the product-page-assignment. I feel that I have developed and can do many of the parts by myself and I’m really starting to get a hang of how it works!

How did you find it to immerse yourself into a new subject for 12 weeks?

Awesome, I love it! I have to learn so many things every day and its amazing to learn these things in just some weeks. It’s also helpful to have a great class where everyone is supportive, motivated, happy and helpful.

What are you most proud of from the websites you have built so far?

Im am most proud over being able to build a copy of Instagrams sign up form - I could use many of the things I learned, to build a professional page.

“It’s a great feeling when you succeed with something that you’ve been working on for a long time.”

Every new subject is difficult, hence we need to implement the new subject in the daily assignments. As we do assignments almost every day, we have to repeat the different areas many times which is good — repetition is great.

What are you hoping to work with after the program?

As a web developer somewhere I can build fantastic projects.
