Katarina joined our boot camp this fall and have now just started her new job at a front-end developer at Softtronic. Big Congratulations!

Hear her story:

Tell us shortly about you

My name is Katarina Sjölund, I have a background in design and markering but just started my new job as a front-end developer after finishing Technigo’s boot camp. In a way, front-end development felt like a natural next step to my previous experiences in design, layout and marketing. It all comes hand-in-hand for me — even if the technology was completely new and a big challenge. Problem solving is a central part of web/app development. I find that the user interface and functionality is very interesting for me as a designer.

What is it that you like about programming?

I think it is the problem solving in combination with slowly see your site or app take shape with the code you have written. It’s so rewarding, but at the same time can be so frustrating when you can’t make it work. It’s a real rollercoaster between the feeling of being a complete idiot to complete happiness when your code works. This have been, and are, one of the toughest challenges with learning how to code. But it’s very fun and it’s great that there is so many great people around to ask and be inspired by.

It’s a real rollercoaster between the feeling of being a complete idiot to complete happiness when your code works.
