Technogise celebrates its 4th anniversary
Last month, Technogise completed its 4th anniversary.
What started out as “one seasoned developer working freelance from his home” 4 years ago, has now transformed into a growing team of 40+ exceptional problem solvers, delivering high quality software solutions to clients across the globe…
To celebrate this growth and this momentous occasion, we held our annual Technogise Outing at the X Thrill Academy, Lavasa last week.
Build up to the Outing:
A few weeks before the trip, Technogise had already started getting into the groove of celebrating its 4th anniversary.
During these weeks, Technogise held its very own ‘TechnOlympics’, a tournament with 4 teams competing across a series of games.
From Cricket, Badminton and TT, to Carrom, Counter Strike, Darts, Jenga and Dumb Charades, TechnOlympics had it all… :-)
It infused great team spirit all around, and therefore became the perfect launchpad for the anniversary outing.
Outing day and the bus ride:
With almost 100% attendance, we embarked on our early morning bus ride to picturesque Lavasa.
As always, the jokes, random dances and songs (ranging from Jagjit Singh to Honey Singh) made the journey as much fun as the destination.
Speaking of the destination, XThrill is ensconced amongst the beautiful green hills at Lavasa, and, as the name suggests, offers a lot of great options for thrill seekers.
Team building:
It is also a fantastic place for team building activities. The facilitators at XThrill did a great job of getting us all charged up for the rest of the day.
We divided ourselves into teams — each team having a unique badass name and “war cry” — and competed in games which required planning, coordination, collaboration and participation from everyone.
From Blind Tent Pitching to Australian Plank to Cob-Web and more, each game was exciting and loads of fun.
We played Cricket during the break and ended the day with an intense tournament of Volleyball.
The evening featured bonfire, barbecue, booze and ‘balle-balle’, which went on till long in the night… :-)
An appraisal under the stars:
At 12 in the night, we celebrated the joining anniversary of one of our colleagues, Rishabh Agarwal.
As is our tradition, he was supposed to undergo his performance appraisal the next day. But obviously, we had planned for the appraisal to happen once we were back in the office.
However, some of our teammates suggested how memorable it would be if we were to do the appraisal then and there itself !!!
And since we already had all the information we needed for his appraisal, we thought, “why not?”… :-).
And so, Rishabh underwent his appraisal at 12.15 am in Lavasa, on the open grass atop a hill, underneath the starry sky… :-).
It was, and would forever remain a truly memorable event for all of us.
Morning trek:
At 6 am the next morning, we assembled for some stretching exercises and then embarked upon a 3 km long trek.
The fresh, unpolluted early morning breeze of Lavasa and the “josh” of teammates all around made sure that this trek was never too tiring.
Along the way, we witnessed the fantastic landscape of verdant hills alongside the Warasgaon Lake. Any photographer’s delight…
Of course, the view of the sunrise was absolutely breathtaking !!!
At the top of the hill, which offered a beautiful 360 degree vista and a constant pleasant breeze, we all sat down to meditate.
That feeling of harmony; of being at one with nature (…which we never get in the hustle-bustle of cities…) is worth every drop of sweat.
Skits:
After returning to the basecamp, each team played out a skit.
These skits were aimed at demonstrating what would happen if we do not follow some of our core values.
With scripts made on the fly, hilariously improvised dialogues, and some surprisingly good acting, these skits were laugh riots through & through, and yet, pretty insightful.
So concluded another memorable Technogise Outing, with our team-bond becoming even stronger than before.
We thank XThrill for being such energetic facilitators and gracious hosts. They provided us with clean, spacious, AC tents for accommodation and treated us to some delicious food throughout.
