The Effects Of Dirty Water On The Human Body

9th Grade Health Class

To start off the lesson, we will be reading as a class chapter 14 in A Long Walk to Water. In chapter 14 this is where the drillers finally hit water, but the water isn't clean. So as we’re reading aloud, we will be discussing as a class the importance of clean water and what can happen if you drink dirty water. After we read the chapter I will be going into a powerpoint where I talk about the effects of dirty water on the body.

After the powerpoint students will be split up into groups of two. One partner will be researching what can happen to you if you drink dirty water while the other partner is finding ways you can clean the dirty water. During this research the students will be using the web to find the information. Once the students are done with their research, they will be writing a research paper on what they found.
