The Vanguard of Techno-Capitalism — Digital Tech — is Leading to Precarity and Exclusion

“Digital” is the new panacea to all problems — existent and non-existent. It is the latest “posterboy” of Technological Solutionism — a worldview in which technology can “solve”, for instance, the “problem of poverty”. So now, Digital Technology in general and Artificial Intelligence in particular will bring an age of great efficiency, opportunities and democratisation. The ground reality is quite the opposite — for most people. Labor replacement, precarious employment and social/political exclusion: these are the realities that the “digital” hype obscures.
