Vaccine Hesitancy: How it Operates Among the Educated and Affluent

[Co-authored with Anshu Deshmukh]

Vaccine hesitancy among the educated populace, in India, is driven by a preponderance of misinformation — a lot of which looks very “scientific”, a scarcity of actual information as well as data about vaccine trials, lack of credibility in public institutions (engaged in under reporting of infections and fatalities; coverups; and even threats) and cultural chauvinism which promotes untested ancient cures (such as ayurvedic concoctions).
