Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has been busy creating slightly weird videos to promote the Metaverse.

He predicts that everyone will hang out in their virtual spaceships before long, playing cards with bizarre robot avatars, gawking at bizarre 3D NFT street art, and occasionally popping into their mixed-reality jobs

Despite the lofty promises, Zuckerberg is living up to his word. In 2021, Meta already invested $10 billion to create the Metaverse, which is just the beginning.

How can we get a sneak peek into the Metaverse if it is about to launch? Here are the 5 high-tech gadgets you’ll need to experience VR technology in the Metaverse in its entirety:

1. Virtual reality (VR) headset

This serves as your travel document for a virtual trip across the Metaverse. VR headsets have been available for a few years and are already well-liked in the gaming industry.

For instance, the Oculus Quest 2 is a standalone device that can be used for gaming without requiring a PC or external computer. The Oculus combines virtual reality (VR) gaming, entertainment, fitness, and social activities as a form of metaverse-lite.

Oh, and Oculus is owned by Meta, so as the Metaverse develops, prepare to hear a lot more about it.

2. Augmented reality (AR) glasses

While VR headsets submerge you entirely in the digital realm, AR glasses blend the actual world with the digital one. They let you record first-person photos and videos using a digital lens to superimpose images and data on your actual field of view.

You might be aware that Facebook and Ray-Ban collaborated on creating Ray-Ban Stories Smart Glasses. What AR glasses will develop into in the Metaverse is just the tip of the iceberg.

We’ll probably see significant advancements in this area because Google and Apple are also developing their AR glasses.

3. AR bracelet

To create a more realistic, seamless experience, tracking our hand gestures and motions inside the virtual environment is essential. Introducing AR wristbands.

One that can detect hand and wrist movement via electromyography (EMG) has previously been released by Meta.

The system can only recognize a small number of movements, but future developments are expected to increase its sensitivity to tiny gestures significantly.

4. Touchscreen gloves

Things start to take a sci-fi turn here. Using haptic gloves will give users of virtual environments a tactile experience. Wearers can grab and feel virtual items as they engage in the Metaverse thanks to various soft motors, actuators, sensors, and other technological marvels.

Reality Labs, a Meta-owned company, is attempting to simulate various physical experiences like texture, pressure, and vibration.

5. Bodysuit with haptics

When you can wear a whole haptic bodysuit, there’s no reason to stop with gloves. A full-body haptic garment called the Teslasuit uses electro-stimulation sensors to capture motion and deliver sensation.

Haptic bodysuits will significantly enhance our ability to engage in the virtual world when used in conjunction with a VR headset.

They will also give our virtual experiences a true sense of embodiment and sensation.
