Thunderbird is an open-source desktop email client that allows you to send and receive mail from one or more email accounts. It also provides business productivity tools such as calendars and task lists. Thunderbird email stores all sorts of data in a separate location. It is away from the program files and it is called the “profile folder.” If you want to move your data and learn how to transfer thunderbird email to a new computer, then you can copy the profile folder to the equivalent location on your computer.

Method 1: On your source computer

Step 1: Connect a device for data transfer.

Step 2: It can be a local one or a remote storage drive.

Step 3: Then, click on the menu button “Fx57Menu.”

Step 4: After that, click on Help and select Troubleshooting Information.

Step 5: Then, find the “Profile Folder” entry.

Step 6: Then you will have to click on “Open Folder.”

Step 7: Your Thunderbird profile folder will open in Windows Explorer.

Step 9: Then go up three levels and right-click on the Thunderbird folder. After that, you will have to select Copy.

Method 2: On Your Destination Computer

Step 1: Connect the transfer device that you have used before to copy your Thunderbird profile folder.

Step 2: Then click on the copy of the Thunderbird profile folder.

Step 3: After that, select Copy.

Step 4: Then open Thunderbird.

Step 5: Then, click the menu button. Fx57Menu

Step 6: After that, click on Help and select Troubleshooting Information.

Step 7: Locate the Profile Folder entry.

Step 8: Then shut Thunderbird down.

Step 9: Click inside the folder, and then select Paste.

Method 3: Using Mozbackup

Step 1: Open a Web browser on the old computer. Then go to the MozBackup download page.

Step 2: Click on the Install Program link from either of the two download sources.

Step 3: Then run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4: After that, launch Mozbackup and click on next.

Step 5: Then select “Backup a profile” and make sure that Thunderbird is selected. Click on Next.

Step 6: Then select the “Browse” button and navigate to your backup drive.

Step 7: Protect your drive with a password.

Step 8: Then click on Finish.

Step 9: Connect your backup media to the new computer and then install and launch MozBackup if Mozilla Thunderbird not receiving emails

Step 10: Select Browse and navigate to the backup location.

Step 11: Lastly, click on Next.

Step 12: Click on Next and then, lastly, select Finish.
