Social media has changed drastically throughout the years, now some people rely on social media to make a living, what I mean by that is social media has become a daily job for thousands of people in the world.
For example, YouTube is a social site where thousands of creators make video content for their fanbases. You can find videos for whatever you’re feeling in that moment. Any genre from video game walkthroughs to fashion and makeup. Having a job based around social media can be super fun for the content creator because they’re making videos on what they are passionate about. Most also agree it can be a stressful job because millions of fans are counting on your uploads and content.
There are so many people of different ages who create video content on YouTube. A lot of YouTubers have dropped out of high school and made their living from uploading content once a week and making thousands from just one video. For example, YouTubers such as Emma Chamberlain dropped out of high school at the age of 16 and now lives on her own in a nice apartment in LA because of her career on YouTube.
Being successful on YouTube can be a hard thing to do, for example, you need to have hundreds of thousands or millions of views. If you’re trying to make money on YouTube you need to have an upload schedule from 2–3 videos a week so you can be consistent. YouTubers make money from the ads they have on their videos. Most people make $0.0076 per view on a ad so don’t quit your day job until you feel financially comfortable. Another way YouTubers make money is by being brand ambassadors which basically means being in a partnership with a brand and posting about their content.
YouTube isn’t the only social media app that can pay you money, Instagram is a huge corporation that pays a ton just for famous people to upload pictures of them wearing the brand or using the brand. The amount you get paid differs from the brand that sponsors you. Some brands pay $10 to $100 per upload.
Technology has become a huge platform for new businesses for example many people don’t even have to leave the comfort of their bed to get paid which sounds amazing to me, all thanks to technology. The story that changed Mathew Micheli’s life is that he and his co-founder met in high school in Toronto and started a company called Viral nation. In viral nation they started off by buying returned items from major retailers and would sell them to liquidators which caused them to have brand connections. This kicked off their business and made them have an amazing social business.
One of the largest businesses based around the internet is one I’m sure almost everyone has used once or twice in their life. This business is called Amazon, it took off in 1995 and started off as just selling books so basically like an online library. Jeff Bezos knew he wanted Amazon to be sell everything, he had a vision for the way he wanted his company in the future and he finally did it. In Christmas year 1998 they had the busiest year yet that every employee had to take a graveyard shift.
Amazon is not the only company who sells things online for a example now we have online shops like E-bay, posh mark and even major brands stores such as Walmart, Nike, Adidas are selling their items online. Social media has became an important part of our shopping that you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your home which is convenient for you and for the brand because they’re making money on the daily from just being online.
A lot of jobs today requires social media to run their business some people even get to work from home due to the fact their job is on social media. Jobs that involve the internet is a social media specialist which is basically when you set up and help companies build their social platform. They are also responsible for creating editorial calendars and syndication schedules.
You can also make bank by using the social media app called Snapchat. The way you can make money on Snapchat is by building yourself a platform on something you love that can be comedy or fashion and you can get featured by Brands and they will pay you for sponsoring their brand.
Tic Tok is one of the newest social media apps which is paying a bargain too Young influencers Who have a huge fan base. If you have 1 million followers on Tic Tok then you have the opportunity to get paid millions of dollars per year just by having fun. Basically all you do on Tic Tok is make videos to an audio track and it can range from anything such as music, comedy or drama. Tic Tok has many users from many different age groups such as 10–40 year olds.
You can also make money from social media in your own creative way, there are apps such as Wanelo and Poshmark that allow you to sell your own clothes that you’re trying to get rid of. It’s a good way to make money because so many people have clothes in their closet that they’re trying to get rid of and now they can make money off of it. It’s like an online thrift store but you can also post some bougie designer brands on your account and make even more money.
Another social platform that you can make money off of is Twitter the way you do that is by posting ads from other brand deals. Another way you can make money on Twitter is by rev twt which is a twitter based advertising service that is basically the more followers you have the higher reputation you have which will cause you to have higher- paying campaigns. Twitter is unique for the very reason of “twittad” which is basically when you set the amount of money you want to get paid and wait for a brand to accept that amount of money to pay you.
Now you can get money from any age group just by being a social media influencer. This job can be very fun but also very stressful and takes a lot of work, but with a lot of motivation you can be very successful.
