As time goes on and technology advances, tv shows experience these changes too. In the way that the camera quality is better and newer technology is included in the shows like cell phones or cars. One of the most popular websites to watch tv shows is Netflix. Here are some of my personal reviews of shows that are available on that site.

Vampire Diaries: Vampire Diaries is a show about a high school girl named Elena Gilbert who lives in mystic fall and falls in love with a vampire named Stefan Salvatore but later falls in love with his brother Damon Salvatore. This introduces Elena and her friends to the supernatural world. At the beginning of the show, one of Elena's best friends named Bonnie learns that she is a witch. Their journey gets even more complicated when they learn of werewolves, doppelgangers, and become enemies to the original vampires. This show, in my opinion, is a very good one because you never get bored with the show because so much happens and is a good show to binge watch.

Originals: The Originals is a spinoff show of vampire diaries and is about the original vampires and their return to New Orleans. Klaus and his family returned because there were rumors of witches plotting against Klaus. Klaus is the most intimidating family member because he is half vampire and half werewolf. When the family returns they find that a former friend that Klaus practically raised was the leader of the supernatural community in New Orleans. This bothered the family because they originally helped build the city. The rumors of the plot against Klaus was not what they expected, the witch and a girl named Hayley that Klaus has been involved with in his past have life-changing information and their lives will never be the same. I really liked this show because it was similar to the vampire diaries but not the same events. This show also has scenes with some of the characters from the vampire diaries.

How I Met Your Mother: This show is about a man named Ted telling his kids how he met their mother but, the show tells the story using flashbacks. Each episode takes you closer and closer to finding out who his wife is. During his journey you get to know his 4 best friends Marshall, Lily, Barney, and Robin. His wingman, Barney, helps him find the love of his life and he usually has the craziest ideas that can sometimes get them into trouble. Lily and Marshall were engaged and that is what inspired Ted to find the one for him. When he met Robin he thought she was the one but their relationship turned into a long time friendship.

Gilmore girls: This show is about a mother (Lorelai) and her daughter (Rory) who live in the small town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. This show is about Lorelai raising her daughter and their lives as Rory goes through high school and college where she attends Yale University. They also face some family dramas with Lorelais’ wealthy parents as they always have something to say about how Lorelai is raising her daughter. In this show you get to see how different this small town is compared to any other.

Girl Boss: Girl boss is a show about a young woman named Sophia in the 2000’s who does not have her life together. She is very uninspired to do what she is passionate about with her life until one day she found a vintage jacket that she bought from a thrift store that was priced well under the value. She was in need of money to be able to keep her apartment because she was about to be evicted so, she decided to bid the jacket on eBay and made an enormous profit from her finding. That is when she found what she was passionate about, flipping clothes. Along her journey, she meets new people and also tries to handle family drama and people in the vintage community who didn’t like someone disrupting the market by flipping the clothes. Sofia learns the difficulties of being a businesswoman and faces challenges along the way.

Stranger Things: This show takes place in Hawkins, Indiana during the 1980's and is about a boy named Will Byers who mysteriously goes missing and there is no explanation as to what happened to him. During the time he was missing strange things started happening around the town like meeting a girl named Eleven who has psychokinetic powers and helps Will’s friends try to find him. The kids also encounter supernatural animals called Demogorgon's who make their mission to find Will almost impossible.

Jessica Jones: This show is from Marvel, it is about a girl who has the power of super strength and has her own PI business. During her time working as a PI, she figures out someone from her past is looking for her and has a big effect on her life. A big mystery is how she got her powers. When a tragedy with her family occurred she soon learned about her new abilities and her life changed forever.

Jane The Virgin: This show is different from others because it is an American telenovela. I like this genre because it can be very funny and there is always something happening. The main character is a girl named Jane who grew up with Janes mother and grandmother, all three of them lived together because Janes mother had her at a very young age. Jane is in school to become a teacher and is engaged to a cop named Michael who respects Janes decision to save her virginity until marriage. Everything is right in the world for Jane until one day when she went to a doctors appointment and was accidentally inseminated with a specimen meant for a patient in the next room. Things for Janes life gets even crazier when she learns the sperm donor is her boss.

All the shows listed above were made at different times so each show has different techniques used and some of the shows don’t need as much technology to produce the content they want. For example, technology advancements would be important for the show Stranger Things because they use a lot of visual effects to create the Demogorgon's and other fictional characters. Technology advancements for shows such as How I Met Your Mother or Gilmore Girls aren’t as necessary because they usually use practical effects and have a real-world setting.
