Apple hosted iCloud data now on Google cloud servers

Currently, Apple(iCloud) is everywhere all over the news, because of it statement, that it’s using a space to store data of its users with Google. It’s like sharing the same podium by the two major key players of the same industry.

Apple has finally revealed an official statement that they were using the Google Cloud Platform for storing the iCloud data of the users. This not the first time that Apple was using different brand service storage, previously Amazon S3 and Microsoft Azure were the platforms. Even though the storage service is shared by two different industry giants, Apple has stated that the data was encoded and does not consists of any identification of any of the user. This was first spotted by CNBC, also the statement include that the data would be incorporate of Calendar, Contacts, Photos and Videos, Documents etc.

In simple words it means, even though Apple using the Google’s service, the company would not be able to access the data as it is in the encrypted form. Eventually, this means the user-data is still secured according to Apple. It has not shared any more further details with statement officially.

It is also said that, sharing the cloud storage services with other brands is just an short-lived situation, which is gradually going to be changed, as Apple is planning to widen it border into US, Denmark and Ireland. Also in China, the process has been started to develop the iCloud data centre which will be operated locally.
